Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-05-26
These terms govern your use of vCareer (the "Service"), a career-progression layer on top of the VATSIM network. By signing in, you agree to them. If you don't, don't sign in.
1. Who we are
vCareer is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by VATSIM.net. We use VATSIM's public OAuth and data feeds under VATSIM's published terms. References to VATSIM, VATSIM Connect, or VATSIM data are descriptive only.
2. Eligibility & account
- You need an active VATSIM account in good standing. We do not create or manage VATSIM accounts.
- During alpha, access is restricted to VATSIM CIDs on our allowlist. We may add or remove CIDs at our discretion, without notice or refund, while alpha is in effect.
- You are responsible for activity under your CID. Don't share sessions.
3. Acceptable use
Don't do any of the following:
- Cheat completion: fabricate, replay, or otherwise tamper with VATSIM track data to claim rewards you didn't earn.
- Automate gameplay through scripts, bots, or sim-side hacks designed to game multipliers.
- Probe, scrape, or hammer our API outside of normal in-app use.
- Use vCareer to harass other pilots, controllers, or VATSIM staff.
- Reverse-engineer the Service to extract trade secrets, or rebrand it as your own.
We can suspend or terminate access at our discretion if we believe you're doing any of the above, or otherwise abusing the Service. Forfeited in-game state stays forfeited.
4. ∀Cred and in-game value
∀Cred is an in-game accounting unit. It has no real-world value,
no monetary equivalent, and is not redeemable, transferable, or convertible to
cash or any other currency. We don't sell it. You can't buy it. You can't trade
it. We may adjust balances, prices, multipliers, and economy rules at any time
— that's why it's called alpha.
Type ratings, tier progression, and any other in-game asset are licenses to access in-game features, not property. We may revoke them, reset them, or re-tune them.
5. Service-as-is
vCareer is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including (but not limited to) merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of mission data, availability of VATSIM upstreams, or non-infringement.
Alpha and beta software breaks. We may lose data, change game rules, reset accounts, or take the Service offline at any time. Real-world flight planning, weather, charts, and operations are not the responsibility of vCareer — bring your own.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, vCareer and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the Service — including but not limited to lost ∀Cred, lost progression, sim-side issues, or any decision-making based on mission, weather, or ATC data shown in the app.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings; we honour the retention rules in our Privacy Policy. We can terminate or suspend your access at any time for the reasons above. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms during alpha and beta as the Service evolves. Material changes will be flagged on the changelog. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. The operator is established in France; hosting on Cloudflare (US-headquartered, EU regions used for storage) does not change the controller relationship between you and us.
Any dispute will first be raised via the contact page in good faith. Failing resolution, the competent courts are those of the operator's domicile in France, save for any non-derogable consumer- protection rights you retain under the law of your country of residence in the European Union.
This clause will be reviewed by counsel before public beta; the operator's legal form and registered domicile will be filled in at that time.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms: see /contact. Privacy questions: see /privacy.
These terms are written in plain English on purpose. They are not a replacement for legal advice; we'll revise them with counsel before public launch.
